A Local Campaign to Cancel the Rents!
Join us for a Cancel the Rents & Mortgages car caravan!
We will demand Cancel the Rents & Mortgages for as long as it takes to eliminate the burden of debt set upon individuals and families during COVID-19.
In the U.S., more than 50 million people have lost their jobs, millions more stand to lose their incomes in weeks and months to come. One of the most critical issues is housing.
Housing and utilities are an absolute necessity for every human being, especially during the life-and-death struggle against COVID-19. No one should lose their housing for any reason in this crisis. The rent and mortgage including for small businesses must be cancelled now.
We believe housing is a human right. We must and can build the movement to defend our communities and stop all evictions and foreclosures!

As the Western PA Unemployed Council, we demand:
- A cancellation of all rents, mortgages for homeowners, small landlords and small business, for the duration of the Pandemic.
- No shutoff of gas, electricity and water utilities, the restoration of utilities for households that are currently shut off for lack of ability to pay, no accumulation of debt.
- Eminent domain over vacant buildings, homes, hotels, all appropriate structures to house the homeless or people in precarious housing situations, including the undocumented and victims of domestic violence.
Are you interested in building a solidarity network to end evictions?
We are building a housing self-defense network by the working class, for the working class, to fight against Capitalist Mega-Landlords and protect tenants and homeowners from eviction. Our call originated from the need for a cancellation of all rents and mortgages for homeowners, small landlords and small businesses.
We are also demanding utilities for all with no shutoffs of gas, electricity, water, and internet, as well as the restoration of utilities for households that are currently shut off for lack of ability to pay.
We believe all humans have the right to shelter, and those in precarious housing situations, including undocumented and victims of domestic violence folks, should be housed in empty homes, hotels, or other appropriate buildings.
